This breed derives from the crossbreeding of "Podolico" Marchigiani cattle with Chianina cattle and, subsequently, from the union of the meticulous Chianine-Marchigiane cattle with bulls of the Romagnola breed. It was only in 1932 that a careful selection was made that brought the Marchigiana breed to its current "type". It is the third beef breed in Italy, it is mainly bred in the pasture.
